Audio Production
Assignment - 5 marks
You will write and produce the audio segments
for your present project.
Demonstration
-
the instructor will give you a demonstration on how to use either Macromedia's SoundEdit 16 program, CoolEdit 16 or Sound Forge. Recording directly into Hyperstudio will also be demonstrated in the next session. If you miss this, it is your responsibility to make arrangements
to learn from a colleague.
Before
you begin
-
continue to think about your message and the
continuity of your design (i.e. a program on fish could incorporate a short
water sound on each screen).
-
write the related audio script on each of
your numbered storyboard cards.
-
due to storage and file transfer difficulities
this semester, try to keep your individual audio files under 10 seconds
each and digitize at or convert to 22KHz - 16 bit, mono.
Production notes
- after module 6 is completed, you have the option of producing audio onto mini-disc and then digitizing it, or recording directly into Hyperstudio
or other program.
-
for Mac's, export your files in the system7
format as Hyperstudio seems to accept these better than AIFF files.
-
use floppy disks to transfer the files into
your workstation from the sound studio or as arranged by your instructor.
-
remember, Keep It Simple.
